Remote Session Recording
Do you need a harp solo or part recorded?
Whether you have a new composition that you needed recorded for your portfolio, or need a live harp part to add to a larger score, I am happy to work with you!
I am happy to record notated music, improvise off of a lead sheet and/or a track. I am most comfortable with classical and pop genres, but am able to adapt to other genres as well.
Please contact me for pricing and availability.
Equipment
I currently record in my home studio with the following equipment:
- Lyon & Healy Style 85 Pedal Harp
- SE2200 Studio Condenser Microphone and/or Schatten CH-3 Artist Harp Pickup
- Camac DHC 32 Electric Lever Harp (records directly into the interface)
- Focusrite Scarlett 4i4
- Reaper (DAW)
The Recording Process
-
We will start by corresponding via email to discuss details. At this point, please be prepared to share a PDF of the score or the track so I can accurately estimate the preparation time and provide a quote.
-
I will then spend some time learning the score (if applicable) Depending on the difficulty, this might be anywhere from a few days to a few months!
-
Roughly one week before I’m ready to record, I will send you a one-take preview recording. I want to make sure you are happy with my interpretation (tempo, phrasing, etc.) and I welcome feedback.
-
For the final recording, I will make multiple takes so we can splice together a polished recording. Depending on your preference, I can mix and master the recording, or send the raw files to you for mastering.
